The European Sleep Foundation is pleased to promote the 2021 World Sleep Day on March 19th. ‘Regular Sleep, Healthy Future’ is the motto that accompanies the day, which traditionally takes place on the Friday before the March equinox and focuses on healthy sleep. Reason enough to take a closer look here. The COVID pandemic has almost completely changed medical services. This is also true for sleep medicine. However, the pandemic also shows that sleep disorders are of crucial importance. The limitation of sleep medical services had a huge impact on patients suffering from sleepiness, fatigue and limitations of daytime performance. Long-COVID-patients often suffer from unrefreshed sleep or sleeplessness. The pandemic also triggered new ideas in the diagnosis, treatment and follow up of sleep disorders.
